How to Measure Your Floor

Here is our simple guide to measuring your space.

For Regular Square or Rectangle Rooms:

1. Measure the Length and Width:
   • Use a measuring tape to find the length and width of the room.
   • Record these measurements in metres for accuracy.

For Irregularly Shaped Rooms:

1. Measure Each Side:
   • Measure each distinct length of the room if it's not a perfect rectangle or square.
   • Record each measurement in metres.

Additional Measurements:

1. Measure Doorways or Level Entrances:
   • For each doorway or level entrance where ramps might be needed, measure the length.

Calculating the Number of Tiles Needed

1. Calculate the Number of Tiles for Each Side:

   • Divide the length of each side by 0.4 metres (the size of one ULTRAGRID™ tile).
   • Round up each result to the nearest whole number.
   • Example: If one side is 5 metres long, you would calculate 5 ÷ 0.4 = 12.5, which rounds up to 13 tiles.

2. Calculate the Total Number of Tiles:

   • Multiply the number of tiles needed for the length by the number needed for the width.
   • Example: If you need 13 tiles for the length and 10 tiles for the width, you would calculate 13 x 10 = 130 tiles.

Points to Remember

• Round Up: Always round up your measurements to ensure you don't run short.
• Extra Tiles: Consider buying a few extra tiles for cutting and future replacements.
• Irregular Rooms: For non-rectangular rooms, calculate each section separately and then add them together.
